Tehachapi Museum
The Tehachapi Heritage League presents "Kids' Day – History is Fun!" on Saturday Sept. 12 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Tehachapi Museum and Errea House Museum (310 S. Green Street). Kids attending can experience many hands-on activities while learning about local history. Although many of the activities will be geared toward children, adults will also find exhibits of interest.
Featured activities will include old fashioned games, demonstrations of crafts such as quilting and basket making, and special tours of the Tehachapi Museum and Errea House Museum.
Special tours of the museums will be given for all age groups. Learn about the local Native Americans in the Milano Gallery and other local history. At the Errea House, see the rural life style in Tehachapi from 1900 to 1930, well before computers, cell phones and television.
There is no charge for admission to the museums, the craft demonstrations, or refreshments. The event is sponsored by the Tehachapi Heritage League and will take place at 310 S. Green Street from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 12. For more information, call (661) 822-8152.

• Skateboard demonstration
• Michele Carey, Library Branch Supervisor for the Tehachapi Branch of the Kern County Library, will be on hand to read from picture books and discuss opportunities for children at the library
• Player piano demonstration by Stan Coutant in the Errea House
