Apple drop huge success

The Tehachapi Lions Club successfully completed their 3rd Annual Apple Drop during the Tehachapi Apple Festival. Due to the generosity of others, the Lions will be able to donate funds to Christmas for Seniors in Tehachapi and the Lions Diabetes Foundation. The Lions would like to thank the community of Tehachapi for their support as well as Albertson's and Kmart for allowing them to sell tickets in front of their stores. Our generous sponsor, BSE Equipment Rental, played a huge part in the success of the Apple Drop this year by allowing the Lions to use their manlift during the event. We would also like to thank our other sponsor's- Carlos' Donuts, The City of Tehachapi, Moats and Hebebrand CPA's and Big Pappa's Steakhouse and Saloon. The Apple Drop was even more successful due to the generous donations of gift certificates from local businesses.

The following is a list of this year's winners: Dana from Lancaster won $1,000, Christina from Rosamond won $750, Phillip from England won $500, Marsha from California City won a $50 gift certificate from Kmart, Sherrie from Tehachapi won 5 free car washes from Sail Thru Car Wash, Janet from Tehachapi won a $25 gift certificate from Home Depot, Doris from Tehachapi won a $25 gift certificate from Pacino's Italian Restaurant, Pat from Westlake Village won a $25 gift certificate from The Shed, Mike from Tehachapi won a $25 gift certificate from Red House BBQ, Greg from Tehachapi won a $25 gift certificate from Kohnen's Country Bakery, Ken from Ridgecrest won a $25 gift certificate from P-Dubs Grille and Bar, Doude from San Fernando won $25 worth of value meals from McDonald's, Sam from Tehachapi won a $25 gift certificate from Domino's Pizza, Maren from Tehachapi won a $20 gift certificate from Henry's Café and Tammie of Tehachapi won a $10 gift certificate from Burger Spot. We would also like to thank Shaun Murray [pictured below] for operating the manlift and for his assistance dropping our apples this year.
