What's up in Stallion Springs?

There will be Town Hall Meetings held on Friday, October 23 at 6 p.m. and Saturday October 24 to discuss Measure B on the November Ballot. A “yes” vote on the measure by at least two thirds of the voters would provide a $50 per parcel tax for police protection services within the Stallion Springs CSD. The funds would be used to pay for police protection, personnel and other necessary police related expenses. No funds will be used for other purposes. Beginning in 2017 the tax will be levied on each parcel within the district. This tax will make no difference in your current tax bill as it will be replacing the tax that has been used to pay for the Administration Building.

Police Report

A number of mailbox thefts have occurred in Stallion Springs and the Tehachapi area. An investigating SSPD officer strongly believes the suspects have a copy of the master key. The officer has requested the Post Office Inspector to immediately change all of the mailbox master locks. If you are a Stallion Springs resident and believe you may have been a victim please contact the Stallion Springs Police Department and the US Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455.

Pick up your mail promptly after delivery. Don’t leave your mail in the box overnight. Tell the Post Office when you’ll be out of town so they can hold your mail until you return.

CSU members discovered two unsecured doors of residences while doing Vacation House Checks. SSPD Officers responded, cleared the homes and observed no sign of forced entry. Be sure your home is secure before you leave and that the SSPD has been notified that you will be gone.
