Through their fundraising efforts, the Tehachapi Lions Club is able to provide four scholarships to local high school students each year. The following students submitted applications and were chosen by the Lions Scholarship Selection Committee: Nennaluz Rodriguez of Monroe High School, Jasmine Medovitch of THS, Lauren Owen of THS and Colton Tiefenthaler of THS.
The students will receive their actual scholarships at their awards assemblies at the end of May, but were invited to attend a special scholarship dinner given by the Lions. The Lions enjoyed getting to know the students and their families and were thrilled to meet such wonderful students with such bright futures.
The Tehachapi Lions always welcome interested members in our community who have a heart for service and a love for our community. The Lions meet the first and third Thursday of the month at the Tehachapi SENIOR CENTER at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call (661) 822-7583.
