Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide
The Loop's Local Scene
It was my treat to be part of the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Freedom Plaza and Visitor Center on June 30 (located on the corner of Curry St. and Tehachapi Blvd.). It was a wonderful event. To see our little town grow into a Visitor Center just puts a smile on my face. People from around the country pass through our town, and now they have a place to gather information and be encouraged to download the "Visit Tehachapi" app (locals should, too!).
We have some of the world's sweetest people here, and many have volunteered to help run the center. It gives me great pride to see a community come together to celebrate this occasion.
The memorials were brilliantly beautiful, and they stand proud, just like the people who serve our country. It's just one way of honoring them, along with the Patriot Guard Riders.
I would like to thank Mano Lujan of Red House BBQ for providing scrumptious hot dogs, so people could fellowship and eat.
I would also like to thank those that saw the vision, designed it, and built it. They did a marvelous job, and I, for one, appreciate our new little visitor center.
So now we are ready to serve our town, in hopes to show people the beauty of our little oasis. We not only grow in size, but we also grow in heart.
