Tehachapi Community Theatre held its 7th annual Playwright's Festival which ended on Sunday, July 17. Winning the Gold Quill Award was SilentWolf for her play, "The Tiniest Goodbye," directed by Daniela Perergrina and starring Rick Gould, David Shacklock, Tamar Asatryan and Chris Galvin.
The Silver Quail Award went to playwright Deborah Hand-Cutler for her play, "Wallflowers and Dreamers," directed by Alex Zonn and starring Bill Kritlow and Jamie Uthof.
The Bronze Qill Award went to playwright Diane Bergstrom for "Our Little Town," directed by Bill Kritlow and starring Lewis Brown, Alexie Adams and Chris Galvin. Presenting the awards was actress, former model and winner of the 1955 Miss America pageant Lee Meriweather. "This is a lovely theater and I am so proud to be here and meet all of you," Meriwether said.
Actress Debbie Reynolds also made a special celebrity appearance and greeted the crowd following the performances. Reynolds came to the event to support her niece Leslie Reynolds-Nuckolls, who starred in two of the plays.
