TCT Presents
Treasure Seekers is an original play by Tanis Galik, a local playwright. It is a family play, based on the beloved children's novels by E. Nesbit, The House of Arden and Harding's Luck.
In Treasure Seekers, three British orphans, Edward, his older sister Elf, and Dickie the young con-artist, are transported back in time by a magical giant white mole to hunt for the lost Arden treasure. Instead, they discover that the real treasure has nothing to do with silver or gold.
This fun production has a cast of thirty-five, with a very wide age range. It gives young new actors the opportunity to work with seasoned adults. There are heroes and villains, action and sword fights and even time travel. This is the perfect theater experience to share with your kids.
The term "family play" carries another connotation. The cast includes several sets of siblings and even some parents. What a great way to keep the family together though a wonderful shared experience.
Chrystal Wheeler, the director who has bit off this challenge, is fairly new to our area. This is her first full project directing here. She and her husband, Jason, recently relocated to Tehachapi from Susanville, where they started a production company with the local theater troupe, and produced five plays. Jason, who is a talented musician and singer, was last seen as Dr. Fred Sumner, the almost philandering husband in "Riverwind", and Chrystal was the assistant director for that production.
