First Place winner in the youth category is Grace Miller with her black and white portrait, "A man and his horse" photographed in Eagle Butte South Dakota.
First time entrant Chris Schatz smiles as he poses with one of his many winning photos. Entering several different categories, Chris earned 2nd and 3rd place awards in many of them.
First place Youth Category winner Grace Miller, also entered the photo she holds in her hand entitled "Mommy nose best". With her are the models she used for the candid moment caught by her lens.
First place winner in the Landscape/Nature category is Susan Miles for her photo entitled " New Growth"
Best of Show winner went to Francoise Renard for this photo entitled "Floating artist pallet"
35 photographers wowed the Gallery 'N' Gifts crowd at the Photography Contest reception held on August's First Friday. With 105 stunning entries, the judges had a tough job settling on the winners. "Each year the photographers up their game, and delight our customers who visit all month long to view the contest photos." Said contest coordinator, Gale Caldwell, "We'd like to thank everyone who came to the reception, it's one of the largest turnouts we've ever had." If you missed the reception, there is still time to view the show which will hang until August 30 at Gallery 'N' Gifts 100 W. Tehachapi Blvd. Store hours are from 10am-5pm daily.
