After Dark Red Light Tours at EFBC's Feline Conservation Center

On Saturday evening, Feb. 25, 2017, the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound's Feline Conservation Center will be hosting "After Dark Red Light Tours at EFBC," a special opportunity for guests to visit the center and enjoy guided tours of its exhibit area felines under the cover of darkness. The first tour will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the event continues through the last tour at 8:30 p.m. As this a special event, admission is $10/ person (all ages) and parking is free. There will be no need for visitors to bring flashlights.

As part of EFBC's education and outreach programs, the After Dark Tour will offer visitors an opportunity to see what our cats do in the dark. Different from EFBC's renowned Twilight Tour events, EFBC volunteer docents will lead groups around the exhibit area to peak in on wild cats with special red light flash lights. Because felines can't see red colored light, they will be relatively unaware of human presence, and everyone will be advised to remain as quiet as possible, so as not to disturb their natural behavior.

The EFBC's Feline Conservation Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of endangered wild feline species. The EFBC houses over 70 rare felines representing 18 wild feline species. Guests can visit the EFBC during its regular business hours, daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed Wednesday's) and view large wildcats like the familiar Jaguars and Leopards as well as smaller and lesser known species like Southeast Asian Fishing Cats, and Margays and many more; admission is nominal, and parking is free. Since 1977, and through its very successful captive breeding management programs, the EFBC has been working with other zoos and facilities, worldwide, in an effort to save endangered feline species from extinction.
