One Platinum and Three Gold Honors Qualifies Studio Elite Dance to compete at Showstoppers National Finals.
At their first competition of the season Studio Elite Dance Competition Team took top honors against dozens of dance studios from around the state at Showstopper Dance Championships. This is the largest dance competition in the USA, and as an annual Anaheim event. This is the second year for the Studio Elite Dance competition team consisting of members ranging from 8-15 years olds including Moria Loyd, Kristen Roghair, Olivia Loyd, Audrey Roghair, Olivia Ringle, Ava Daniels and Spike Daniels. They have been competing at regional events in preparation and to qualify for the National Finals this summer at MGM Las Vegas.
Showstopper was held February 18-20 where Olivia Ringle and Ava Daniels received a First Place Gold Trophy in Teen Performance Duet for "I Can't Do It Alone" from Chicago. "Wild Wild West" performed by Audrey Roghair, Olivia Ringle, Kristin Roghair, Ava Daniels, Olivia Loyd, Moria Loyd won them a First Place Gold Trophy Teen Performance Small, clogging category. A crowd favorite this year was "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story won First Place Gold Trophy Teen Performance Small, character category. Spike Daniels received a First Place Platinum Trophy in Mini Performance Solo for his portrayal of Freddy Mercury in "Mr. Fahrenheit" which featured his tap and acrobatic skills. The platinum and gold honors also qualify these dances to advance to Showstopper National Finals this summer in Anaheim Calif.
"They did a beautiful job with the character development and storytelling. It brought tears to my eyes," says Sara Morris, who is known to her student as Miss Sara. "I'm so proud of my team, they are like family."
