Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide

Making the best use of your time

For those who feel that there is nothing to do in Tehachapi, let me tell you that we can disprove that in a moment. Join us at Jacobsen Middle School Gymnasium on Tuesday, April 25 for the Non Profit Showcase. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the event closes at 8 p.m. Admission is free. The Loop and The Tehachapi News are sponsoring the event, which is being hosted by The Rotary Club of Tehachapi. Food will be available for purchase. Several booths will be offering raffles and there will be a door prize winner chosen from the visiting public.

This community has more wonderful Non Profits and organizations that give back to the community then most towns of this size. Almost every one of these organizations do what they do with a volunteer force. This includes Main Street Tehachapi which produces the wine walks and Farmers Market downtown but gives the money back to downtown to keep it beautified. Organizations like Marley's Mutts save dogs that others would terminate, rehabilitate them and find them homes. You might be interested in helping veterans or joining a service organization like Rotary, Kiwanis or Lions Club. Several museums, Cheers to Charity, The Pregnancy Life Center, the Police Foundation, Make A Wish and so many more will be in one place showing you what they do and why they do it. Find out how you can help or what services are available in our community.
