Sunday's 4th of July celebration in Bear Valley Springs featured a classic car show. Nearly 50 entries competed for first place. Winner this year is Herb Martindale for his beautifully restored 1931 Model A Ford.

The Challenge the Bear family style 12 mile Baby Bear race was won by Laura Huntington, bib #586 with a time of 41:03. Second place and only 3 seconds behind was Mark Trunnell, bib #585 and a time of 41:06.

Challenge the Bear fastest time for the gruelling 58 mile Papa Bear ride went to Eathan Zehr, with a time of 3:39:15. Congratulating Eathan is Challenge the Bear organizer Jay Carlyn.

Finishing out a day of bike racing, ballooning, shopping and just hanging out around the coolness of Cub Lake was the "Firecracker 5-K Run" which looped around the lake and back to a finish line at the baseball diamond.
