Rodeo Dance at the Tehachapi Event Center

Mountain Festival Weekend

Get your dancing boots all shined up and join us after the Saturday night rodeo for an old fashioned western dance at the Tehachapi Event Center and Rodeo Grounds. The dance immediately follows the rodeo in the southwest corner of the grounds.

Tickets will be on sale for $10 at the TMRA information booth on the north side of the stands. The Boys Scouts of Tehachapi will have lots of food and non-alcoholic drinks.  Adult beverages will be available also at the TMRA Watering Hole. The dance committee has been very busy gathering fabulous items for the raffle that night. There will be lots of two- stepping and line dancing with the live music provided by the very popular Movin' On. This year there are two recipients of the dance procedes. They are the Valley Fever Americas Foundation and local high school student Taya Sheen.

Valley Fever has long plagued – and mystified – man. Although it has been studied for over 100 years, it is a disease that remains impossible to control and difficult to treat. Promising research is underway for a cure and a vaccine but additional funding is needed to reach the clinical trial stage. For the populations at risk, the benefit of a vaccine to prevent Valley Fever is the same as for polio.  Valley Fever Americas Foundation is asking people to come out and support the vaccine project while enjoying an evening of dancing at The TMRA Rodeo Dance with proceeds going directly towards vaccine development.

This year's dance will also benefit Taya Sheen, a local 18 year old, who in February was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma. A rare form of childhood cancer.

Taya is an amazing young woman. She graduated from Tehachapi High in June, keeping up with her school work while spending weeks at the hospital for chemotherapy and radiation. She was the guest speaker at Relay for Life and wants to be a motivational speaker.

Enjoy the rodeo and join us for the dance, live music, raffles, and food.
