Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide
First Friday in Downtown Tehachapi - 5 to 8 p.m., February 2, 2018
To Celebrate 2018 the Chinese Year of the Dog, the Treasure Trove will be featuring "Love Is Going to The Dogs". Paper dog and heart valentines will be available to color for those who wish to contribute to our sponsored rescues:
• Doberman Pinscher SOS
• Have a Heart Humane Society
The ornaments will be posted on our dog house wall for the rest of February.
Come join us to support the dogs, enjoy food and wine and listen to music by Art Larson on clarinet.
The Dog is the symbol of loyalty and honesty. The unconditional love that we receive from our rescued pets is unparalleled. Come to the Treasure Trove on First Friday and become acquainted with our rescued dogs.
• Mel's Benny and Bailey
• Dawn and Steve's Willow and Finster
• Susanna's Tica and Panda
A few other dogs needing homes will also make an appearance. We love our rescue dogs.
Doberman Pinscher SOS is dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of abandoned Dobermans and to educating the public about the Doberman breed and canine care. They are a local no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity. Most of their Dobermans come from high-kill animal shelters in southern and central California, and many of these dogs need medical and/or behavioral rehabilitation before they can be adopted. Every Doberman receives a full veterinary exam and whatever medical intervention they need. They rely solely on private donations and adoption fees for this crucial work and greatly appreciate the support of our local community. For more information about Dobie SOS go to Dobiesos.net.
Have a Heart Humane Society believes that cats and dogs enrich, heal and transform our lives. They rehabilitate, vaccinate and alter them before finding them their forever home. They believe that each cat and dog deserves a caring home and a safe, healthy environment in which to live. To fulfill their mission, Have a Heart Humane Society will rescue abandoned, abused and injured animals, provide low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter programs, educate the greater Tehachapi community about responsible pet ownership, and partner with local organizations to develop and share resources for animal welfare. They support several of their efforts by their upper scale resale shop Rescue Treasures. They are always looking for new volunteers and could use Tidy Cat Scoopable Liter and/or Friskies's Canned Cat Food.
Hours at Tehachapi Treasure Trove are daily 10 to 5 p.m. (Sundays 11 to 4 p.m.). Be sure to stop by and see our collection of uncommonly eclectic and unusually unique stuff. Remember we carry an extensive line of art and craft supplies and artist services along with yarn, music and a jewelry studio.
