A good family catch.
The banks of Brite Lake were lined with fishermen.
Brite Lake was restocked with 2,100 pounds of trout just three days before the start of the annual fishing derby.
"My very first fish!" said angler Vincent Avalos.

Over all winner for the heaviest derby fish caught was Gerard Keller, with a 5.3 pound Bass caught on Crank Bait. He will receive a $500 prize check from the TVRPD.
10-15 year old winner was Pedro Lopez, with a trout weighing 3.3 pounds. He will receive a check for $250. His bait was Power bait.
16-and up category winner was Joshua Hernandez, standing with his son Ford Hernandez. Joshua caught a 4.1 pound trout on Kastmaster bait. He will receive a $250 check.
Winner in the 0-9 year old category was Zadan Ramirez. He caught a 4.4 pound trout on Roostertail bait. He won the bicycle.
A day filled with fishing, fun, and family time took place at the annual Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District's Spring Fishing Derby. TVPRD Director Michelle Vance was elated with the nearly 350 participating anglers and she enthusiastically thanked BHE Renewables for their monetary contribution making it possible for last week's purchase of 2,100 pounds of trout for restocking.
