What's Up in Stallion Springs?

Skate Night

Edin Bell enjoyed her first skate night with her mother Samantha at Skate Night in the community center in Stallion Springs. Come join in for skating, music and fun with friends in the gym on May 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. Bring your own skates. No scooters or bikes are allowed. Snacks are available for purchase.

6K Walk for Water

CERT is looking for volunteers to assist with Stallion Springs Church "Global 6K for Water" on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The walk will go throughout the community. Help the Church get over the finish line. If you haven't registered or donated for the 6K, there is still time. To date Stallion has over 70 walkers registered and raised $3,500 which will provide 70 people with clean water. http://www.teamworldvision.org/team/SSCC6k for water.  CERT is looking for volunteers to assist the Stallion Springs Church during the walk.

Spring Clean-up Day

Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m .: Time to clean up around the home and bring your large, bulky items to Stallion Springs CSD parking lot for easy disposal and recycling. To have bulky items picked up for Senior and Disabled Adults please call by Wednesday, May 16, to be placed on the pickup list. We will not accept: household hazardous waste, construction waste, asphalt, concrete, tires, alkaline batteries, fluorescent tubes or light bulbs.

POA

SSPOA Annual Dinner Dance & College Scholarship Fundraiser, Saturday, June 2. Enjoy a catered dinner, music with a DJ, dancing and silent auction and help support qualified high school applicants. Watch for ticket sales to begin and join us for a wonderful and enjoyable evening supporting a very worthy cause for our Stallion Springs high school grads. The POA Board of Directors election is scheduled for Saturday, June 23 at the annual meeting. If you are interested in serving on the Board or if you have questions about the time commitment and responsibilities, or maybe just want to know more about serving on the POA Board, contact President Debbie Rodriguez. The POA is a non-profit organization with profits going to community needs and the scholarship fund.

Grass area at Man O' War Park: CLOSED

For the next two months the grass area at Man O' War Park located at 27220 Man O' War Drive will be closed for all use. For your convenience the playground and recreational area at Man O' War Park will remain open during this time. The grass area will be closed for approximately two months while the SSCSD makes upgrades and repairs. Please stay out of this area for your safety, so we can open it up more promptly.

Police Report

Please report suspicious activity that is in progress to the SSPD by contacting KCSO dispatch at (661) 861-3110. Do it when you see it. A delay in reporting can allow the suspicious persons to leave the area making it difficult to locate the subjects. Remember to tell the dispatcher that you are in Stallion Springs and requesting a Stallion Springs officer.

Stallion Springs Board of Directors

The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 15, at 6 p.m. in the CSD Board Room.
