Pressed for time? There's a new dry cleaner in town

There's a new dry cleaner in town. Mother and daughter team Tanya and Jeanette Joham have just opened Joe's Dry Cleaning at 979 E. Valley Blvd. Suite 4, behind Fastrip and next to Liberty Tax. The official Grand Opening will be held on Oct. 24 from 4-6 p.m. and the public is invited. The official Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting will be at 4:30 p.m. Jeanette mentioned that refreshments will be on hand for all visitors.

Tanya moved to Tehachapi two years ago after living in Las Vegas for 20 years. She managed a business in Las Vegas and has a degree in business. Her kids are grown and are helping to promote Joe's, making it a true family-run business.

Jeanette has lived in Tehachapi for 18 years. For many years she lived in the LA area and said it was always her husband's dream to move to Tehachapi and have a horse but the closest they could get was Lancaster where he was a school principal. It was 9/11 that prompted Jeanette and her husband to finally move to Tehachapi as they wanted to get away from the city.

Joe's Dry Cleaning is open daily except Saturday. Monday through Thursday they are open from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. On Friday they are open from 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and on Sunday from noon - 4:30 p.m. Their basic dry cleaning price is $5.50 per item except for suede, leather, bulky or heavy items and other items that require special handling. They actually launder and press shirts for $3.25, which is a bargain.

On the walls of the establishment are displayed prints from local artist Donald Towns and these prints are for sale should anyone want to take one home. Towns is the coordinator for all the artwork to be displayed at the new Tehachapi hospital.

Come by and visit for the grand opening on Oct. 24 and check out the services of Joe's Dry Cleaner.
