Derby Downs Cart Races
The Stallion Springs Police Activities League held the Derby Downs Cart Races on Saturday, Nov. 3. Thirty children between the ages of 5 and 14 raced down a quarter mile hill on Stallion Springs Drive to see who would have the fastest time.
After three full runs it came down to the final race between the eight fastest drivers. Morgan Mumby won the day with a time of 31.16 seconds, James Cole finished second and Blayden DiCicco finished third. The winners all received a trophy cup and gift cards from Big 5. Senior Officer James Best said, "The next race is scheduled for April, 2019."
Neighborhood Watch
The next meeting of Neighborhood Watch is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the CSD Board Room.
CERT
Monday, Oct. 29 was a special day for Stallion Springs CERT as Christine Moore, Director of External Affairs for AT&T presented a donation of $5,000 to our organization. Thanks to those team members who attended this presentation, hosted by Supervisor Zack Scrivner in his Tehachapi office. These funds were from an "Investing in California" Grant from AT&T.
An invitation from Michelle Vance said, "We could not have achieved the success of the Gran Fondo without your support. We will be donating $1,500 to your organization. We would like to invite SSCERT to our Board Meeting on Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the TVRPD Board Room located at 490 W. D St., so that we can publicly thank and recognize your organization."
The CERT Basic Class will be offered in our community Spring of 2019. Please invite family, friends and neighbors to enroll in this training.
The class schedule is: Wednesday, March 13, 2019: 5 to 9 p.m. for orientation, March 16: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 23: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and March 30: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Police Report
The Stallion Springs Police Department is seeking qualified men and women to join their citizen volunteer program. Becoming a part of this unit will allow local residents to give back to the community and assist their police officers in the performance of their duties. Successful applicants will attend a four-day training course, and will then begin performing a variety of duties. Some of these duties will be administrative in nature, such as data entry and filling out reports. Other duties will be more physical, such as assisting with traffic control, searching for evidence and transporting equipment or persons as needed by the Department. Applicants must pass a background investigation before being selected for this position. Applicants must also meet certain requirements
Applications are available at http://www.stallionspringscsd.com or at the Stallion Springs Community Services District Office. Application must be returned to the Stallion Springs CSD by Monday, Nov. 12.

Stallion Springs Blood Drive
Houchin Community Blood Bank will hold a blood drive on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Community Center at 27800 Stallion Springs Drive.
Breakfast with Santa
On Saturday, Dec. 8 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Community Center, after breakfast get started on that holiday shopping at the Holiday Craft Fair in the gym.
