Wine and dine – an experience to remember at the Rotary's 5th Annual Wine Pairing Dinner

Rotary Club of Tehachapi

On Saturday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. at The Shed, the Rotary Club of Tehachapi will be hosting the 5th Annual Wine Pairing Dinner, which is one of the Club's major fundraisers for the year. This year the featured wines are from the Boisset Collection with wine Ambassador, Loren Hoffman available to talk about each and every wine. Mano Lujan, owner of The Shed and Red House BBQ, who has experienced culinary studies in China, Japan and Mexico is specifically designing the food so the wine enhances its flavor and the food enhances the wine. He will discuss why he prepared each dish with each wine.

The Boisset Collection is a family-owned collection of wineries.  With more than 20 prestigious wineries in the Côte d'Or, Beaujolais, Rhône Valley, California's Russian River Valley and the Napa Valley, each house retains its unique history, identity and style. We will be experiencing five wines from the collection. We'll open with a social hour featuring Wattle Creek White Blend when guests arrive, then have a Raymond Cabernet with the Appetizer, a DeLoach Zinfandel with Soup or Salad, Buena Vista's Sheriff with the Main Course and end with a Wattle Creek Red Blend with Dessert.

Rotary will have a silent auction and this year a small wine pull where you take a chance in pulling a mystery wine for a set price.

This event sells out every year and is one of the most highly anticipated fun wine and food events in Tehachapi. The Rotary Club of Tehachapi meets every Thursday at Noon at The Shed. We spearhead projects including, senior battery replacement, Senior Holiday Luncheon, Breakfast with Santa, graduating HS senior scholarships, leadership camp for HS students, kindergarten personalized books to encourage literacy plus, this year, tree planting at Brite Lake and comfort stuffed animals for children admitted to our new hospital.
