BVS Cultural Arts Presents
The Bear Valley Springs Cultural Arts Association is sponsoring a FREE event for the Bear Valley Springs and Greater Tehachapi area public: “Meet Our Local Authors, Book Mini-Faire and Book Signing”. As many writers learn, writing the book is one thing, getting it published is something else. A panel of published authors will share the success and pit-falls of choosing to find a publisher or self-publish. Topics addressed will include but not limited to: attracting a major publisher, learning about smaller, regional and specialty publishing houses and self-publishing through online services and local presses.
It often comes as a big surprise to learn that even a major publisher expects the author to promote their work. A whole new world smacks them in the face: Marketing. Q&A Breakout Chats with our local authors can address such topics as: Book tours, signings, fairs, websites, blogs, contests, clearing houses, and audio book and kindle options.
The Tehachapi literary community is quite robust. It’s a great time for not only the general public, but writers’ groups and book club members to become acquainted with our local writers and illustrators.
The free event will be on Feb. 17 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at Bear Valley Springs Oak Tree Country Club, 29500 N. Lower Valley Road in Bear Valley Springs (Tehachapi).
Suggestion: Come for the Valentine Brunch: 11 – 2 p.m. and stay for the program or, attend the event – and stay for dinner: 5 – 8 p.m.
All published local authors are invited to offer their books for signing and sale at our Book Mini-Faire. To participate, email Andi Hicks, BVS-CAA Program Chair at [email protected]
