The future of Stallion Springs goes hand in hand with a good potable water source. The District has purchased 40-acres of land in Cummings Valley that came with a high-producing, good-quality well. The board and general manager in the upcoming meetings will be discussing how this purchase will impact the immediate future of Stallion Springs and how it can improve the next five to 10 years. Please join us for these discussions. Our next board meeting will be on March 19 at 6 p.m.
Open gym
Our gymnasium is open free of charge for youth and adults Monday and Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. We offer a fun place to hang out and drop-in activities such as volleyball, basketball and pickup games. Please note: All open gym hours are subject to change without notice. Participants must observe all local facility rules and have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Waivers can be found online at http://www.stallionspringscsd.com or in the gym office. Pickleball co-ed pickup games, Tuesday and Thursday 6 to 8 p.m.
Trained to save
Interested in a great summer job or challenging career as a professional lifeguard? Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you’ll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, first aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in lifeguarding that includes first aid, professional level CPR and AED in one certificate. A digital certificate will be available upon successful completion of course. Stallion Springs Parks & Recreation will be hiring for Summer Lifeguard positions beginning in May. This certification course must be completed prior to employment. Spring Class 2: May 4 and 5. Location: Dye Natatorium pool, 400-B South Snyder in Tehachapi. If you have a life threatening emergency, call 911. The Stallion Springs Police Department is dispatched through the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
For non-life threatening issues, please call (661) 861-3110. You may contact us by email or using the contact information provided on the CSD website http://www.stallionspringscsd.com. If you wish to make an appointment to speak with an Officer contact the CSD at (661) 822-3268. Appointments maybe canceled at any time due to limited police staffing.
All New FREE Yoga Classes
Stallion Springs CSD with White Wolf Wellness Foundation is bringing boutique-quality yoga to Stallion Springs twice monthly. Classes are free to all participants and the program is funded by a grant from Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. Participants will enjoy all-level yoga instruction with one of White Wolf’s highly-qualified instructors and can work to enhance their health, wellness and movement with this new program. Brush Blush
Join us for a fun night of stress free, fun and non-intimidating, way to create wooden masterpieces for your home, office, gifts, etc. You will end the night with a wood sign that you will be proud to say, “I created that!” It’s the same fun and creative experience as our easel events, except now you’re working with wood to design your own sign from scratch. You design it. Once you choose your sign, you will choose your background color and your paint colors, as well! We will walk you step by step through this creative process. All supplies are provided. Event held March 22 in the Corral at 7 p.m.
Fitness classes
Fitness classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays for all levels. Come try your first class for free. You can take advantage of the 3-month special of $5 each or you can pay $30 monthly for unlimited classes.
Stallion Springs Board of Directors
The Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 19 at 6 p.m. in the CSD Board Room.
