Upcoming sabbatical

From the Pastor's Desk

Dear Friends,

Greetings! Happy May! Happy Spring! Where does the year go?

May is traditionally full of end-of-school activities. If you are a teacher or love a teacher, please give them some extra support and kudos this month!

If you are a student or love a student, please give them some extra support and kudos also. If you know of someone graduating this month, whom we can recognize and pray for, please let me know!

Our church is busy this month in preparation for my upcoming sabbatical. After five years of service as your solo pastor, and one year as your co-pastor before that, I will be away from you for the summer months. Julie Bulloch, with Wayne Thompson's assistance, is organizing each worship service. Yay Julie! She has spent hours working on this. Please give her some kudos when you see her and if she asks you to do anything, just say yes.

Linda Flores is keeping a calendar of who will lead worship each week, but she is not responsible for filling the calendar. If you have people in mind who are good speakers that you would like to nominate to come and speak, please let her know. Technically, when your pastor is away, it is the Personnel Pastor Parish Team who fills the pulpit. Our PPP Team is quite small and could use a few new volunteers. If you are interested in learning more about this vital team, please speak to me, the Team Leader Anita Pritchard, or our Moderator Patrick Pine. Phyllis Comstock and Jan Combs ably serve this team and could also tell you more about it. Phyllis Belcher has recently agreed to join the team, too. Please hold them all in prayer as they seek to discern how best to serve the personnel of our church. Also, especially while I am away, please pray for all who work for our church, employees and the volunteers, who keep the place functioning for everyone. If it seems that there is a need to fill, imagine that it might be God's call for you to serve.

While I am away, I will once again visit AidAfrica in Uganda, as well as the Pearls Children's Home. Please hold my family in your prayers for our travels and whatever mission God has in store for us as we strengthen ongoing relationships with these mission partners. I will hold you all in prayer as well.

Love,

Pastor Nancy
