Mark your calendars for June 29 from 9 to 11 a.m., at Tank Park at 5000 Lake Isabella Rd., and round up the bicycles; the Free Bike Rodeo is stampeding into Kern River Valley!
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office and the Kern River Valley Family Resource Center invite you to bring your children to a Free Bike Rodeo in Lake Isabella.
Bring your bikes to this free event and learn safety tips for bike riding on the streets. There will be a practice course where kids can apply what they have learned! Be sure to bring your helmet so you can use the safety course. KCSO and CHP will be taking kids on the safety course.
KCSO Crime Prevention Unit will give free bike safety lights to the first 100 kids. Vendors, including Joe’s Bikes, will give free bike fittings and repairs. The Citizen Service Unit will be there to make free child safety ID cards.
Kern Medical and Kern Valley Healthcare District are supplying around 100 free helmets, and Bike Bakersfield will be present at the event to help fit those helmets on kids.
You can also expect free food (served by Kern County Sheriff’s Activities League - Kern Valley), raffle prizes (including four free bikes!) and plenty of fun activities.
