Tehachapi Police Department
The Tehachapi Police Department and the Kern County Fire Department will team up for a public presentation on emergency preparedness on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tehachapi Police Department, 220 W. C St., Tehachapi.
With the recent earthquakes in Ridgecrest we feel it is the perfect time to talk about this subject during Emergency Preparedness Month (September). The free presentation will cover individual and family preparation for emergency and disaster situations.
The speakers will include Police Chief Kent Kroeger and Fire Department Captain Brian Gaddis. Both Chief Kroeger and Captain Gaddis bring specialized training expertise to the conversation.
The City of Tehachapi recently conducted a social media poll, asking if you have an emergency preparedness plan in place. The public response was 60% “no we have not discussed a plan for our family.”
We will provide material to consider for your family plan and introduce you to Community Emergency Response Team training for your family. C.E.R.T. training occurs locally several times a year and provides the next level of preparedness training and awareness.
