Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide
Tehachapi Branch Library
It's another New Year. Many of us have made our resolutions. We've decided on things we want to do with this new year. Perhaps there are bad habits we want to break, good habits we want to develop, things we want to learn, reduce our clutter, meet new people ... so many things to choose from. And our Tehachapi Library can help us with many of them.
Of course, you can go and check out books on a wide variety of topics. Don't forget that when our branch library doesn't have a book you're interested in, there's always an interlibrary loan, checking out ebooks and other ways of finding almost any book.
Then with the Library's ever expanding programs (for all ages) there's always an opportunity to meet new people. There are book clubs and various other groups meeting at the Library. Don't forget the Friends of the Library. Volunteers are working to keep all the programs at the Library going to help make sure our Tehachapi Community has a fun place for people of all ages to find things to do.
There's always room for more volunteers, because there's always something that needs to be done. If you're interested, contact the Friends of the Library by email at [email protected] or call/text (661) 750-2818.
If you are trying to declutter your house and are in need of a place to donate books, the Friends of the Library is always looking for more books to add to the Friends of the Library Book Shop. Bring the books by when the Library is open and drop them off downstairs where you'll see the sign. The books will be added to the books in the Book Shop or saved up for the big seasonal sales (the next one is in February).
And if your New Year's resolutions involve buying books, The Friends of the Library has some of the best deals in town (most are under a dollar). The money you spend goes back into helping fund many of the Library's programs for our community. That's a real win-win.
