Starting Saturday, March 21, Jake’s Steakhouse will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for takeout, curbside pickup and delivery to the city, Stallion Springs, Bear Valley and Hart Flat.
After the shelter in place order is lifted, Jake’s will be open for lunch and dinner as usual.
Available for takeout will be Jake’s regular lunch and dinner menus, as well as special family meals which will change daily. The family meals are available in a pack for two or four people.
Jake’s will also cook special meals to accommodate specific dietary needs as long as they have the ingredients. Jake’s menu and daily specials will be available on their Facebook page.
Patrons can call the following numbers to place an order: (661) 822-6015, (661) 501-0553 or (661) 412-1646. Patrons can text in their orders on the last two numbers.
Barbara Ferrante, the owner of Jake’s, is also contemplating opening for breakfast takeout which will include breakfast burritos and sandwiches.
During the power outages in fall 2019, Jake’s was an oasis among closed businesses, offering people free WiFi, coffee and a place to relax and get warm. Ferrante also donates to local charities including Have a Heart Humane Society and Christmas in July.
She has had to temporarily lay off all of her employees, however, several have offered to volunteer their time to cook meals and to process and deliver orders.
Jake’s Steakhouse is located at 213 S. Curry St.
