Your pets thrive on routine, too

Well, here we are a month into “lock- down.” I do not know about you, but I never thought I would experience something like this in my lifetime.

I will tell you who must be enjoying this crazy time though... our pets! They are definitely reaping the benefits of “their” people being home more. Although, it is great for them now, some pups and even some kitties might experience some anxiety when the world opens back up again and we slowly get back into daily life.

As much as we want to snuggle with our furry family all day long, some experts suggest that during this time of quarantine you should still give your pet some daily alone time. If they usually go into their crate when you leave, you could still have them hang out there a couple hours a day, even though you are home. You could have them spend some time away from you in a different room other than the room you are in.

Just like people, most pets thrive on routine. If they are used to being home alone a large portion of the day, give them some time by themselves daily so that the transition when you leave again will not be so traumatic. (However, your cat might be counting the days until you head back to work, just sayin’.)
