The Rotary Pick-a-Ticket Fundraiser will come to a close at the Tehachapi Farmers Market on Sept. 17. Tickets will be on sale from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on that day and the drawing will be held at 7 p.m. Winners are not required to be present at the drawing.
The fundraiser started on Aug. 27 with five prizes: a quilt that was handmade by Rotarian Annette Shepherd, a $100 Home Depot gift card, a basket with three bottles of wine and other treats, a jar of lottery scratchers, and a Home Depot bucket containing assorted tools.
A sixth prize has recently been added consisting of two bottles of wine made from locally grown grapes. Los Viajeros Vineyard donated a bottle of their 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon and a bottle of their just released 2018 Malbec.
The Pick-A-Ticket board has 494 squares with rows labeled A–Z, and columns labeled 1–19. Participants can choose one ticket for $5 or five tickets for $20.
The proceeds from this fundraiser will be used for Rotary service projects in our Tehachapi community. Some of our projects include scholarships for local outstanding high school graduates, personalized books for kindergarten students, middle school scholastic improvement awards, coats for local kids and delivery support for Meals-on-Wheels.
Please come out and enjoy the Farmers Market on Thursday, stop by the Rotary Booth and pick a ticket or tickets. Not only will you be supporting projects in our local community, you may win one of the amazing prizes.
