What's Up in Stallion Springs?

With the end of Ed Gordon's term, the Stallion Springs CSD had a vacant position on the Board. Advertising was put out and the search was on for a new director to fill the position.

At the January 19 Regular Board Meeting, The Board interviewed the potential candidates. After the interview process the Board decided to appoint Neil Record, a longtime Stallion Springs resident. Neil has spent countless hours volunteering and helping our community and we look forward to having his knowledge fill the empty seat.

"I personally want to thank Ed Gordon from the bottom of my heart for all of his hard work and dedication to this community.  Ed spent many days reaching out to Congress and had fought for our small District on many occasions. He was always the first one at all of our events ready to take pictures and praising our staff. Thank you, Ed, you are amazing and we appreciate you," Vanessa Stevens said.

Prop 68 Grant

We had a great turnout at the final meeting on February 6 with a lot of support and great ideas. The skate park and pump track have always been in the plan as components for this park. We are going to be submitting the grant soon. Community input is still needed. Call Shawnee at the CSD if you are interested in answering a few questions for the grant. The deadline to submit is coming up on March 12.

Home Owners Association

It is that time of year again. We are preparing for our scholarship fundraising for the 2021 Stallion Springs Scholarship applicants!

Last year we had six applicants, the most we've ever had! While we were in a pandemic and unable to do our regular shindig, we still rallied together and from donations alone we raised $4,200! It was absolutely mind-blowing and just perfect, as we had just enough for all six qualified graduates!

We assume this year we will be unable to have our dinner, dance and silent auction so we hope to raise money by asking the generous community members for donations, as well as for silent auction items. We would like to host an online silent auction of sorts to help raise even more monies.

If you have previously donated gift certificates for your business, gift baskets or items from your business and would like to again, please get in touch with us. If you never have and would like to then we are happy to accept your gracious donations and get you information.

We cannot do this without you, community. We appreciate you all so much. Thank you!
