"Each month our Tehachapi residents come out and roll up a sleeve to help others in our community. During the pandemic 594 people donated a unit of blood potentially saving nearly 1,800 Kern County lives. That number is staggering," said Key Budge, event coordinator for the City of Tehachapi.
More than 120 people have donated blood this year at our February, March and April blood drives.
Make your reservation now and, to help save even more time, fill out the donor questionnaire on the day of the event (it must be day of the donation) from home at http://www.HCBB.com and print it or screenshot the barcode for staff to scan and save a few minutes.
Blood donations save lives, people need blood following severe accidents, surgery, cancer and severe anemia. One unit of blood can help save up to three lives.
Walk-ins on the day of the event will be welcomed, priority going to those who have a reservation. Information on becoming a blood, platelet and plasma donor can be found on their website http://www.HCBB.com.
