City of Tehachapi

On April 30, City of Tehachapi's Municipal Airport Manager Ashley Whitmore earned her designation as a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives. To earn this designation airport executives must show a diverse knowledge in several areas of airport management including Finance and Administration, Planning, Construction and Environmental, Airport Operations, Security and Maintenance and Communications and Community Relations.

"It's important to seek out training to manage an asset like an airport, and most importantly be the best manager possible for our pilots and community," said Whitmore.

Whitmore has been the Tehachapi Airport Manager since 2018 and has worked on various airport related projects since 2014. Whitmore is the first female Tehachapi Municipal Airport Manager in its 40-year history and is the first Tehachapi Airport Manager to earn the Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives designation. Whitmore also serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of California Airports.

"I couldn't be prouder of Ashley, she has worked very hard and is very deserving of this designation, she does a fantastic job of managing our airport," said Greg Garrett City Manager.
