Celebration of Life
Frank R. Stibor was a frequent contributor to the Tehachapi News with his Letters to the Editor, but this will be the last time his name graces those pages as he succumbed to his battle with esophageal cancer the morning of May 6, 2021.
Known for his acerbic wit, humor, gregarious personality, love of books and booming voice, his presence will be sorely missed by family and friends. Frank taught at Mojave High School for 28 years and lived in Tehachapi since 1988. Frank was a Vietnam Era U.S. Army veteran and global citizen, speaking fluent German during his service overseas. He later attended college in Europe and met Elena, whom he married in 1971. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary in June. They enjoyed traveling, from mountains to islands to the desert. At home, he doted on his pets, his cat Sparky and their dog King.
Frank is survived by his wife, Elena, his sister, Uta N. Considine, and family in California, Germany and Czech Republic. Elena shares, "it is hard to let you go, but we love you dearly and our memories of you will remain in our hearts forever - love you and miss you." While Uta writes, "My brother Frankie is missed beyond words – his heart, love and caring for family, friends, students, helping people, animals and the world."
The family would like to thank Hoffman Hospice and Dr. Vinh-Linh and staff. Donations can be made in Frank's honor to the Kern County Cancer Fund.
Wood Family Funeral Service, Inc. has been entrusted with his care. For condolences, please visit http://www.woodmortuary.net.
