Introducing Colleen Farrell

BVS Cultural Arts Association

The upcoming Bear Valley Cultural Arts Association Art Show is again fortunate to have talented donors for this year's raffle. The show runs from Saturday, September 18 through Sunday, September 26 at the Oak Tree Country Club, 29500 N. Lower Valley Road in Bear Valley Springs. It features an opening reception Saturday, September 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. with artists in attendance.

The works of the donors will be awarded to the lucky prize winners on September 18 at the reception and, if you get your raffle tickets ahead of time, you do not have to be there to win. Call Eva at (661) 619-3043 for early tickets. During the week, the show will be open to browse through at your leisure. Docents will be available if you find art you cannot live without.

One of our talented donors, Colleen Farrell, has been in the community for the past 12 years. She has taught art and pottery. Colleen teaches at Valley Oaks Charter School and has volunteered for the Salvation Army teaching youth that cannot afford classes. Colleen also taught art at Triassic Legacy Vineyards on Saturdays called "Art and Merlot."

Colleen's donation this year is a piece of pottery entitled "Off the Cuff." The pottery piece came about as part of a pottery lesson. In the process of showing her students different techniques to finish a piece, she ended up with this engaging work.

We hope to see you at the reception, or sometime during that week to enjoy all that our talented artists have to offer.
