Veteran’s Day celebration
Sponsored by the Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District
Join us for veteran stories and honoring our local heroes on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at Philip Marx Central Park, located at Mojave and E streets, Tehachapi.
Following the event there will be live reenactments, authentic military vehicles and a kids bootcamp course. All kids that participate in the course will receive an official dog tag.
Live veterans Day Concert
The Outreach Singers will be performing Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Jude’s in the Mountains Anglican Church, 1200 S. Curry Street, Tehachapi, under the direction of Jerry Haswell.
The concert theme is “Let Freedom Ring.” The music is a tribute to our veterans honoring their service preserving our freedom. Featured songs will be familiar patriotic favorites. veterans in attendance are encouraged to wear uniforms or hats designating the branch of service for which they served.
Bear Valley Springs veterans Association
The Bear Valley Springs veterans Association will be holding a brief veterans Day ceremony promptly at 2 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Cub Lake in BVS. The Association will be installing five Bear Valley Springs veterans who have reported to their Final Duty Station on the veterans Memorial there.
The BVS gate house has been contacted to advise them of this event and anyone from outside BVS can stop at the gate, tell them they are attending the event and they will be admitted.
A pass does not have to be generated for every person wanting to attend.
Veterans Day ceremony
Join us on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Mojave Air and Space Port Legacy Park, 16999 Airport Blvd., Mojave. Keynote speaker Vietnam Veteran Leon Ryder. A fly-in and static display of historic aircraft and helicopters on flight line (weather permitting) under the original MCAAS Mojave tower from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
