Assemblyman Vince Fong
Assemblyman Vince Fong, Jan. 10, announced his re-election campaign in the newly drawn 32nd Assembly District. Fong, a Republican, has represented the vast majority of the district since his election in 2016.
"Our state faces tremendous challenges, which must be addressed with a sense of urgency," said Fong. "Building needed water storage, reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfires, supporting our law enforcement, producing more energy, and providing permanent tax relief are critical priorities. I will continue to work hard to improve the quality of life for our community."
Fong is launching his campaign with strong support from Republican leaders across the Central Valley, including House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy.
"There is no person I trust more to fight for the Central Valley than Vince Fong," stated McCarthy. "He has worked tirelessly to bring water to the Valley, to cut red tape so we can produce needed energy, and has been a forceful voice for our local small businesses. He will continue to bring common sense and conservative values to Sacramento."
Vince Fong was born and raised in Bakersfield, graduated from West High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from UCLA and master's from Princeton University. For nearly a decade, he served as the district director to House Majority Leader and Congressman Kevin McCarthy, managing public policy issues for the region, working to create jobs, making common sense reforms, and fighting to improve the quality of life for our neighbors and families.
A dedicated neighbor and committed volunteer, Vince is a lifetime member of the NRA, a former elected member of the Kern County Republican Central Committee, and a former board member for Goodwill Industries of South Central California and Honor Flight Kern County, where he worked to send WWII, Korean War and Vietnam veterans to Washington, D.C. to see their memorials.
Assemblyman Vince Fong is in his 3rd term in the Assembly. He serves as Vice Chair of the Budget and Transportation Committees. He is running for re-election in District 32, encompassing the communities of Exeter, Ridgecrest, Tehachapi, Maricopa, Taft, portions of Bakersfield and Visalia, Kaweah, Kernville, Lake Isabella, the Kern River Valley, Lemon Cove, Oildale, Oak Grove and Three Rivers.
