Season 3, Episode 15 – Tehachapi Update – Mini-Pod

TehachaPod debuts a new addition to the TehachaPod lineup with a mini-pod(cast).

The goal of the mini-pod is to provide a quick update on some of the upcoming community events and monthly meetings. A short conversation to remind the community of what to look forward to. Joining Budge on the first mini-pod is Jeanette Pauer the president of the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce. Jeanette shares updates from what is happening in April and early May with the events in the local business community. Topics covered in this episode include things occurring in April and May in and around Tehachapi.

TehachaPod will continue with the regular interview shows featuring local guests from the community. The mini-pods will be a new addition just to provide a quick update.

Season 3, Episode 14 – Airport Update

Ashley Whitmore, the Tehachapi Municipal Airport manager, provided an update for everything taking place at our airport. Ashley talks about some upcoming events at the airport which include a STOL event. Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) competitions take place across the country and our Tehachapi Airport will play host to the West Coast STOL event over Memorial Day Weekend.

Ashley explains other activities at the airport which include the Build-A-Plane program for local high school students, the Civil Air Patrol who met every week, charity events like Cheers for Charity, the junior high rocket launch, 4th of July Fireworks Show and a few more. We also talk about the public safety aspect the airport provides for the entire community. She also mentions some improvements and maintenance projects taking place. In this short conversation we learn a lot about the daily activities that take place at the city-owned airport.

Season 3, Episode 13 – Give Big Kern Day

TehachaPod welcomes Aaron Falk, the president, and CEO of the Kern Community Foundation. You may recognize Aaron's name from his work with our local congressman over the past few years. Aaron is now in charge of the Kern Community Foundation, and we talk about charitable giving in Kern County. We cover what the foundation does and how they can help local nonprofits. Falk talks about the May 3 event known as "Give Big Kern Day" and how it has benefited Tehachapi-based charities and how businesses and individuals can participate in this event.
