Bakersfield National Cemetery
In recognition of Memorial Day, National Cemeteries across the nation place flags on gravesites to honor the nobility of military service of the dedicated men and women who put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms we hold so dear. We show them our deepest gratitude and utmost support by remembering individuals interred at these hallowed grounds.
What: Placing/removing flags and flag holders on each gravesite for Memorial Day.
Who: Groups or any individual that would like to participate.
When: Friday, May 27 at 9 a.m. – placement of flag holders only.
Saturday, May 28 at 9 a.m. – Audience to place flags following the ceremony. Family members wishing to place individual flags on their loved one’s gravesite will be allowed to do so before the ceremony between 7 and 8:30 a.m.
Thursday, June 2 at 9 a.m. – Pick up flags and holders.
Where: Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 E Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, California.
