New heath care products

Great news for our soap connoisseurs. Our new soap artist, Ana Marie Sowell, has created a line of lotions, face creams, soaps and balms. Originally created for her own use, friends, family and acquaintances soon convinced Ana Marie to make her concoctions available for purchase. A nurse for 30 years, Ana Marie saw a need for healthy and reasonably priced skin care products. Her all-natural products consist of a blend of coconut, mango and other tropical fragrances.

Classes and events

Our Children’s Art Class is now at 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday so that students can more easily attend.

Individual or special group lessons are available. Just call the center to plan your event and reserve a date.

Our continuing Sculpting Class with Lucinda has become very popular. Held most Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. The medium is clay. The instructor will provide clay and a clay sculpting tools for a reasonable fee if you do not have your own.

Our next Paint Night is on June 18 with our June guest artist Wendy Johnson. She has created an ocean landscape for this night. As always snacks, drinks and all supplies will be provided. There will be wine as well as other beverages.

June’s Guest Artist

For the month of June, we will have the artwork of Wendy Johnson who hails from Bakersfield.

Painting and creating from a young age, Wendy creates beautiful landscapes influenced by stained glass art and pointillism. A unique eye-catching style from an upcoming artist. Showing on June 1 for our First Friday event and available throughout the month.

Aspiring musicians and Open Studio

Learn to play with others? We are looking for beginning/intermediate musicians for jam sessions.

You should have the ability to play a few songs but you don’t have to be very good.

Call Mark at the center for more details.

We would like to remind everyone that the Center has Open Studio time Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sew your quilt, paint a picture, sculpt or just socialize.

Alari Design

We have the best Jewelry store in town. So, if you need a repair, watch battery or a new one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry art, come see Mike. His hours of operation are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by appointment. Call or text (661) 805-0849 for more information.

We are located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd. (across the street from the water tower). Open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., call (661) 822-6794.
