Celebrating Tehachapi Arts Center's First Anniversary

Tehachapi Arts Center

To all our friends, customers and members, we hope your holiday season was pleasant and memorable. This month we're excited to celebrate our First Year Anniversary.

Its hard to believe it's been a year since we transformed our beloved Treasure Trove into a co-op of 24 members/owners, (with additional vending associates.)

There have been new events like our Improv Class and Jam Night, while maintaining old favorites like Paint Night and the various classes taught by our experienced artists.

We finished the first year in the black and are looking forward to an even better second year.

Events

Paint Night is on Jan. 21 with Edward Vasqkedi. We will have wine, soda and snacks. For January, Ed will be demonstrating techniques for a still life painting.

Children's Art Class every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., we offer our children's class. We can also offer a private class for birthdays or your own group of friends. Call Grayson for more information.

Jam Night will be held on Jan. 24. Starting around 5:30 p.m. Dust off that old guitar, bass, keyboard, ukulele, or whatever you have, and come on out for a fun night of music and socializing. We are mostly a group of intermediate musicians so don't think you have to be great to join us.

Bring a few copies of songs you want us to play and we'll try.

Alari Design

Our jeweler Mike creates one-of-a-kind custom-made pieces right here in Tehachapi. They're as unique as you want them to be. He also replaces watch batteries, resizes rings and repairs all types of jewelry. Mike's jeweler hours are noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday or by appointment. Call or text (661) 805-0849 for more information.

If you are looking for a place to showcase your art consider joining us here as a co-op member or an Artist Vender. If you have an artistic skill you would like to share, you can teach a class in our classroom. Young artist are welcome, too. The Tehachapi Arts Center (TAC) is a cooperative continuing in the tradition of Mel White's Treasure Trove. TAC provides a venue for local artisans to gather, learn, teach, display, and sell their art. We are located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd. (across the street from the water tower). TAC is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can reach us at: (661) 822-6794.
