Celebration of Life
The Angels came for Madeline Eugenia Lassich, 91, of Bakersfield, California, (previously living in Tehachapi) on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022. This reunited her with her loving husband, Esteban, who passed away 40 years ago. Madeline was surrounded with lots of love from her family.
Madeline was predeceased by her parents, Forest and Madeline Sprague and her husband, Esteban (Steve) Lassich. Madeline is survived by seven children. Brenda Lassich, Stephanie (Stef & Vic) Braun, Madeline (Mickey & Steve) Rhods, Ernestina (Tina & Jeff) Fitz-Patrick, Esteban (Steve & Shari) Lassich, Lloyd Lassich and Edith Lassich as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Madeline retired from her long-time business, Madeline's Boarding Kennel in Santa Paula, California. She loved to go to dog shows to meet up her many good friends and show her German Shepherds, Chihuahuas or Chinese Cresteds. Most would say her dedication to the family, friends and animals kept her young.
Madeline will be missed by all who had the chance to have her in their life. She was a strong, independent woman who had the determination to accomplish anything she wanted to do.
We will all remember mom who insisted she wasn't getting old but just getting older.
At her request, ashes will be taken to Boston Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park, Massachusetts to be buried with her parents. A family celebration of Madeline's life will be held on Feb. 11 at her home in Bakersfield.
In lieu of flowers, please make your donation in memory of Madeline Lassich to Canine Adoption Rescue League (C.A.R.L.S.) located in Santa Paula. (Formerly known as Madeline's Boarding Kennel.)
