Jeff Kermode appointed to the Measure K Citizens Oversight Committee

From our Supervisor

In accordance with the voter approved Measure K, an oversight committee has been formed to aid in transparency and oversight of the sales tax revenue generated by Measure K and to oversee compliance with the enacted ordinance. The Committee duties will consist in reviewing the annual budgeted uses of Measure K revenues as a part of the County's annual budget process, as well as other County financial reports related to Measure K which may be produced from time to time.

Jeff Kermode will serve as the Second District's Citizens Oversight Committee member. Mr. Kermode is a resident of Bear Valley Springs, and has almost four decades of law enforcement experience, including Chief of Police for the City of Tehachapi (2006-2014). He has also served as President and member of the Board of Trustees for the Tehachapi Unified School District, on the Board of Directors for the Central California Animal Disaster Team, and President and Board Member for the Bear Valley Buckaroos.

"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Kermode to the Kern County Measure K Citizens Oversight Committee. Jeff's extensive law enforcement experience and civic involvement will enable him to be an extremely valuable member of this committee," said Supervisor Scrivner.

Jeff Kermode added, "I am honored by Supervisor Zack Scrivner's nomination to the Measure K Citizens Oversight Committee. I look forward to bringing my 38 years of law enforcement experience to the table as a steward of the Measure K taxpayer's fund."

Supervisor Scrivner represents Kern County's Second District, which includes the oil-producing communities of Taft and Maricopa.
