Paint class with Ed
New for Sundays, Ed Vasqkedi will be teaching his intensive art class, painting in Acrylics, from 2 to 4 p.m. All ages welcome.
Jam Night
Dust off that old guitar, bass, keyboard, ukulele or whatever you have and come on out for a fun night of music and socializing. We are mostly a group of intermediate musicians so don't think you have to be great to join us. Bring a few copies of songs you want us to play.
We always meet on Tuesdays. Come on out on May 30. Get on Mark's text list and he will remind you about sessions.
Children's Art Class
Every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. We can also offer a private class for birthdays or your own group of friends. Call the Arts Center for more information.
Yarn Spinning Class
Coming on Saturday, June 10, learn how to spin your own yarn. Susan Hall will teach you how.
Improv at the Art Center
Join us Saturday, June 10 for our monthly Improv Night. Johnathon and Susan Hall will provide an evening of fun and games as you exercise your mind in the company of friends and fellow enthusiasts.
Paint Night
The third Saturday of every month.
Cathys Floral Cross Class
Create a beautiful cross from Polymer clay. All materials provided.
Ed's Portraiture now taking orders
Our resident artist and instructor Edward Vasqkedi is now offering his services as a portrait artist. He will create an original work of art in several medias including oils, acrylics, and sketching of people, pets and animals.
We sell art supplies
The Art Center has increased its inventory of art supplies. We have more paints, and for the first-time, alcohol ink is available. We also have polymer clay.
Alari Designs
We have the best jewelry shop in Tehachapi right inside the Art Center. Alari Designs provides watch battery replacements, re-sizing of rings and repairs for all types of jewelry. Jewelry shop hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by appointment. Call or text (661) 805-0849 for more information.
Join our Co-op
If you are looking for a place to showcase your art, consider joining us here as a Co-op member or an Artist Vender. If you have an artistic skill you would like to share, you can teach a class in our classroom. Young artists are welcome, too. We're proud to have a growing number of up-and-coming artists getting their first start here at the Arts Center.
Our Facebook page manager, Marta Escanuelas, has been very busy. So, don't forget to visit us there. You can view all the classes and updates online.
The Tehachapi Arts Center (TAC) is a cooperative continuing in the tradition of Mel White's Treasure Trove. TAC provides a venue for local artisans to gather, learn, teach, display, and sell their art. We are located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd. (across the street from the water tower). TAC is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can reach us at: (661) 822-6794.
