Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide
Jennifer and Dan Hassan moved to Tehachapi in April of this year, moving from Kernville where they had lived for the last two years. They had moved there from the Antelope Valley to be closer to their daughter and grandchild.
After living in Quartz Hill for 16 years, they wanted to get out of the Antelope Valley and Kernville seemed ideal. However, Jennifer admitted that as much as they liked Kernville, it was just too remote. Their son Christopher and his family were living in Tehachapi, so that seemed an ideal compromise.
Both Dan and Jennifer were born at the Antelope Valley Hospital and raised in the Antelope Valley.
Dan's father made his living building drive-thru dairies. Dan is a food distributor and owns Rising Bread Inc. in Lancaster. He has a brother and sister who are both living in Arizona. Jennifer has a brother in Wrightwood, in the San Bernardino Mountains.
According to Jennifer, she and Dan met 35 years ago at a Valentine's Day party put on by the City of Palmdale that was held at the Days Inn where Jennifer worked as the banquet hostess. Dan was there as a guest and followed her around all evening and that was that.
Jennifer is an aesthetician and is now working in Tehachapi out of Sage and Soul Healing in Old Town.
She has done sound healing workshops at the Tehachapi Library and worked with Tibetan singing bowls, using them as a tool of meditation. She enjoys making jewelry using semi-precious stones and sells some of her pieces at Sage and Soul.
Jennifer has always been a firm believer in volunteerism and she and Dan are still active with the Kern River Conservancy.
They both like to hike and Dan has a dirt bike that he rides when he can. Jennifer said she is looking into opportunities to volunteer locally.
Welcome to Tehachapi, Jennifer and Dan. I am certain that we will be hearing more from you soon.
