Glass Fusion Class & Inktober at the Arts Center

Tehachapi Arts Center

Our in-house Glass Fusion artist, Leila Kleiman, will be presenting her long-awaited Fused Glass Class. Her students will be making a pendant and earring set. Make beautiful one of a kind art that you can wear or gift to a special person. The class will take place Saturday, Oct. 28 at noon.

October is Inktober here at the Arts Center. Our artists will display ink drawing sketches and other pieces using the medium of ink.

New hours at the Arts Center

We are now open seven days a week and stay open til 6 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Note: we stay open later for special events such as Thursday Farmers Market. If the flags out, were open.

Events this month

First Friday

The First Friday of every month we have an open house from 5 til 7 p.m. This month it falls on Oct. 6. Come on out and see what is going on for the month as you visit with the artists and friends. Enjoy some wine and hor d'oeuvres. Sit down and relax listening to the sounds of Art Larson's soothing clarinet.

Cathy's Polymer Clay Class

On Saturday, Oct. 21 from noon to 3 p.m. Cathy will be teaching her students how to make Halloween bats. Her classes are popular, so sign up early. All materials are provided. This is a great family project, a perfect multi-generational activity and something you can keep or give as a unique gift to someone special.

Jam Night

Dust off that old guitar, bass, keyboard, ukulele or whatever you have and come on out for a fun night of music and socializing. We are mostly a group of intermediate musicians, so don't think you have to be great to join us. Bring a few copies of songs you want us to play. We usually start around 6 p.m., but you can arrive as early as 5 p.m. People coming from work arrive as late as 8 p.m. This month, jams take place on Tuesday nights, Oct. 3, 17 and Halloween (if enough people want to participate).

Children's Art Class

Children's Art Class takes place every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. We can also offer a private class for birthdays or your own group of friends. Call Grayson for more information.

Paint Night

On Saturday, Oct. 21 at 5:30 p.m. Come and create a seasonal painting and enjoy a fun evening with fellow artists. We provide all materials, wine, punch, pizza and hor d'oeuvres.

We sell art supplies

The Arts Center has increased its inventory of art supplies. We have more paints and for the first-time alcohol ink is available. We also have polymer clay.

Keys

Our key smith makes a variety of classic vehicle and household keys that are guaranteed to work. Monday, Thursday, Sunday and by appointment.

Law Office of Rebecca Ortiz Johnson

Rebecca is an attorney proficient in family law and children's rights. She is available in the evenings and weekends. For an appointment call (661) 829-4941.

Alari Designs

Now open Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. To streamline production, our jeweler Alari Designs is changing their hours. The new jewelry shop hours are Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment. Call or text (661) 805-0849 for more information.

Join our co-op

If you are looking for a place to display your art, consider joining us here as a co-op member or an Artist Vender. If you have an artistic skill you would like to share, you can teach a class in our classroom. Young artists are welcome, too. We are proud to have a growing number of up-and-coming artists getting their first start here at the Arts Center.

Our Facebook page manager Marta Escanuelas has been very busy, so don't forget to visit us there. You can view all the classes and updates online.
