The roads and byways in our community are beginning to show signs of litter. Fortunately, the Horseman’s Association is sponsoring their semi-annual litter pick-up on Oct. 21. Meet at the Equestrian Center at 9 a.m., and remember to wear a hat, gloves, bring water and picker-uppers if you have them. You do not have to be a member of the Horseman’s Association to participate. Just be a person who takes pride in our community and want to make it look better. We usually meet for lunch at the Mulligan Room, afterward. You are welcome to join in.
Does vintage dance appeal to you? Dancing like Jane Austin? The BVS Vintage Dance and Tea Society meets Thursdays 6 to to 7:30 p.m., at the OTCC on the first, third, and fourth Thursdays of the month, and at the Green Room in the Whiting Center on the second Thursday. Dates and times can be subject to change so check the Facebook page, or join the email list.
The Astronomy Club is in full swing and meeting monthly on the first Wednesday of the month. They also plan dark sky star parties and other events. Bear Valley Springs is a private gated community in which the residents pay an annual association amenities fee. To visit, a non-member or non-resident must arrange with a friend or family member in the community for a guest pass that would permit them to engage in the activities. Guest passes will be checked.
