Commissary commercial kitchen looks for participants

California Hot Dog for Heroes, a mobile 501(c)(3) nonprofit food service, is proud to announce the opening of their new commissary commercial kitchen located at 20700 South Street in Tehachapi. The organization hopes to share the location as a preparation facility for other local food trucks and as a space for other culinary arts services.

The facility is available to food entrepreneurs, chefs, culinary arts instructors, bakers, caterers or anyone who has dreamed of owning a retail food service. They offer an affordable, clean, safe and fully permitted commercial kitchen space to accommodate all food business needs. There is also bar space available for a possible bar-tending school, beer or wine retail business or wine tasting room. The commercial kitchen is available to everyone from all areas of Kern and Los Angeles counties.

The kitchen opened in November of 2023 to allow food entrepreneurs an affordable space to meet county permitting requirements for food preparation, allow for business growth and opportunities to start living their dream. The kitchen has all new equipment, two walk-in coolers and a patio area great for seating, live music or DJ services. Food trucks looking for a more permanent location will find a food vendor lot, as well as commercial commissary kitchen.
