Timothy John Hodges April 11, 1956 – February 13, 2024

Celebration of Life

Timothy John Hodges, 67, of Stallion Springs, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 13 with his children by his side in the ICU of Adventist Health Bakersfield. He was born on April 11, 1956, in Bellflower, California to Henry and Helen Hodges.

Provided.

Timothy John Hodges.

After high school, Tim proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for six years and was honorably discharged in July of 1981 as Aviation Electronic Technician First Class from Patrol Squadron 16 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was married to and divorced from Debra Lynn Hobbs, with whom he had two children, Christy and Doug.

He then went on to work for Lockheed Martin where he perfected his craft as an aeronautical engineer and worked at air force bases around the world, with his longest stint being at Naval Air Station Kaneohe Bay, now known as Marine Corps Base Hawaii. He was a dedicated employee and proudly worked for Lockheed for over 30 years. Although his job took him all over the world and away from his children, he was a devoted father who always took care of us no matter how far apart we were. He was also a proud grandpa who was there for the births of both of his grandsons, in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2008 for Christian and in Los Angeles in 2015 for Logan.

He retired from Lockheed in 2015 and moved from Hawaii to Stallion Springs to be close to his older sister Debbie, with his girlfriend Andrea and their dog Koko. Andrea sadly passed away in November of 2015. Tim and Koko quickly made friends and settled into small town life. Tim enjoyed spending time with his sister and her husband before she sadly passed away in October of 2021. He enjoyed visits with his family, driving his grandsons around town to see all the wildlife, going shooting at the ranch with his best friend Bob, taking Koko for walks, working on his 57 T-bird, taco Tuesdays at P-Dubs and just swapping lies, as he would always say, with his friends and neighbors.

Tim was known for the stories he always told with much enthusiasm and from his big heart. He was always there to lend a hand to his friends, and he always took care of his family. His battle with CHF was exhausting, but he was a fighter. It broke his heart to lose Koko in December of 2023, after 14 years of companionship. She was such a good dog. He fought so hard for so long, through countless heart attacks, and in the end his spirit was strong, but his poor heart just couldn't go on.

Tim is survived by his children, Christine Renee Hodges and Douglas Scott Hodges; and grandchildren, Christian James Wells and Logan Timothy Wells.

Family and friends will be gathering to celebrate Timothy's life on Friday, March 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at P-Dubs Brew Pub, 20800 Santa Lucia St., Tehachapi.

Wood Family Funeral Service has been entrusted with his care.
