Classes and Events

First Friday falls on April 5, so don't forget to come out for food, fun and drinks from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tehachapi Arts Center. Enjoy the music and refreshments and meet the contributing artists at the Tehachapi Arts Center. In March we hosted the Bird Exhibition Show, showcasing the work of local artists. This art exhibition will continue through April 30.

Tehachapi Arts Center offers ceramics and sticker making classes. The second Saturday of each month we have an improv workshop, and pottery night happens on the third Saturday. Starting in May, we will have a Jam Night every other Tuesday.

May 3, Annual 5x5 Art Sale to benefit Rising Star Riders:Call for art submissions

Rising Star Riders (RSR), in conjunction with the Tehachapi Arts Center, will present the annual 5x5 Art Show and Sale on May 3 (the First Friday of May). All art sized 5x5 will be sold for $55.55. All sales proceeds and donations will be contributed to the Rising Star Riders Foundation.

This annual fundraising event raises money for the foundation and provides local artists with a chance to display their talents. The event also allows supporters of the foundation to purchase quality artwork at an affordable price. We invite everyone to participate in this event. Tehachapi Arts Center will provide participating artists with 5x5 canvases or artists are welcome to use their own canvas or surface for their submissions. The deadline for submission of artwork is April 29 at 5 p.m.

Join our Co-op

If you are looking for a place to display your art, consider joining us here as a co-op member or an Artist Vendor. If you have an artistic skill you would like to share, you can teach a class in our classroom. Young artists are welcome, too. We are proud to have a growing number of up-and-coming artists getting their first start here at the Arts Center.

The Tehachapi Arts Center is a Cooperative continuing the heritage of Mel White's Treasure Trove providing a venue for local artisans to gather, learn, teach, and of course display and sell their art. We are located at 116 E. Tehachapi Blvd. (across the street from the water tower). Open every day. Call: (661) 822-6794 for more information. Or Follow Our Facebook Page for a calendar of events each month. You can view all the classes and updates online.
