Tehachapi Mountain Democratic Club will focus on the environment at its April 4 meeting, which will be held at Kelcy’s Restaurant at 5 p.m. All members and interested Democrats are invited to attend.
Earth Month was established in 1970 as environmental dangers became increasingly apparent.
Zachary Principe, Stewardship Manager of the Joan and Frank Randall Conservancy (TNC), as well as Andrew Clare, Stewardship Coordinator of The Nature Conservancy, will be the speakers. They will explain how TNC creates a Tehachapi wildlife corridor to connect four critical ecological regions. The Randall Preserve has secured more than 70,000 acres of habitat critical to local and regional ecology. TNC is the largest preserve in California with a vision to make it a living laboratory where conservation strategies can be pioneered to help key ecosystems adapt to a changing climate.
