With the departure of Charles Jensen from the CSD Board and the BVS community, the vacancy called for another board member. The remaining members of the board decided to appoint a new board member, rather than run an election. A call went out for applicants.
On April 11, five contenders applied for the position. They were David Bouchard, Don Johnson, Michael Lewis, Paul Paparella and Leana Mitchell. Each of these candidates were interviewed in public before a full house of Bear Valley residents. President John Grace, VP Martin Hernandez and Director Judith Cagle all voted for Michael Lewis. Director Geva Frevert, who had nominated Paul Paparella, voted for him.
Michael Lewis has a varied background with management experience, as well. He is expected to be a great asset to the board and hopefully, it can resolve some of the many issues the community faces, not the least of being infrastructure. Thank you to all the applicants for your interest. You all had good points in your introductory speeches.
Bear Valley Springs is a private gated community in which the residents pay an annual association amenities fee. To visit, a non-member or non-resident must arrange with a friend or family member in the community for a guest pass that would permit them to engage in the activities. Guest passes will be checked.
